Larry Smith is not only the owner but works daily in the business as President of Smith Home Furnishings. From overseeing the operations of the business, to traveling to world markets and performance groups, Larry works hard to make sure Smiths always has the newest and latest trends in furniture, mattresses, and accessories. Larry contributes the success of the business to God, his hard-working staff, and the support of the Smith family. Actively involved in their local church and community, Larry is proud to be "home grown" in Ponca City, Oklahoma. In his free time, Larry enjoys spending time with his wife Charlotte, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Sean came to work for Smith Home Furnishings after graduating from Oklahoma State University in May of 2005 with a degree in Business & Human Resource Management. As General Manager, Sean works to ensure all aspects of the business are thriving. While overseeing our Sales, Office, Service, and Warehouse/Delivery management teams, Sean also manages the Marketing, Merchandising, Human Resource, Technology, and Public Relations aspects of the business. Sean takes personally the responsibility of guaranteeing Smith Home Furnishings brings Ponca City the absolute best furniture buying experience possible. A native of Ponca City, Sean feels extremely blessed with the opportunity to live and work in his hometown!
Ashley is our Merchandise Manager and has worked for Smith Home Furnishings since March of 2003. Ashley works hard to ensure our store has the best selection of furniture, mattresses, and home accents around. Born and raised in Kay County, Ashley is proud to work for and support a locally owned business. Ashley loves to see our customers truly enjoy their shopping experience and get excited about their new furniture.
Waymond began his career at Smith Home Furnishings as a warehouse worker in 1998. With over 15 years of management experience, Waymond was soon after promoted to our Warehouse Manager position. Waymond has respect for and takes great pride in serving our warehouse team. Believing the customer comes first, Waymond looks forward to making our customers happy with their professional delivery or customer pick-up experience.
Brooke began working for Smith Home Furnishings in May of 2014. As our Office Manager, Brooke manages the daily functions of the office, playing a key role in Customer Service and Finance. Born and raised in the Kay County area, Brooke enjoys being able to work in such a wonderful environment among the familiarities of her hometown. She is the mother of two children and finds pleasure in spending her free time with family.
Assistant Office Manager
Born and raised in Arkansas City, Kaitlyn began her career with Smith Home Furnishings in April of 2018, as Office Assistant. After serving 3 years as a CNA, while also working in Tech Sales at Staples Office Supply, Kaitlyn is excited to continue serving and caring for customers in a new way. A very outgoing individual, she looks forward to meeting new people each day, assisting them with their finance and service needs, while also making sure they leave with a smile on their face. In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys visiting her family and friends and also loves to sing.
Eugene began working at Smith Home Furnishings as a full-time Sales Associate in July of 2004. With several years of experience working in retail, Eugene believes that providing outstanding customer service is the foundation to building lasting relationships. Living in Kansas, he loves to root for the Kansas Jayhawks and also enjoys working in his community, serving others. Eugene looks forward to each day, helping customers find the furniture & accessories that make their house a home.
Originally from Iowa, Don and his wife moved to Ponca City in 1971 to open Brown's Shoe Fit. After working 33 years, Don retired from Brown's and began working part-time as a Sales Associate at Smith Home Furnishings. Don supports locally owned businesses and enjoys working and assisting customers with various home furnishing needs. Outside of work, Don values time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends.
After several years in Montana, Shane joined our team after relocating to Ponca City in order to be closer to family. Referred to by many friends as the "Mountain Man", Shane enjoys spending time outdoors, especially wilderness hiking. He and his wife have filled their home with Mission styled furnishings, much like what can be found here at our store. As a full-time Sales Associate, with several years of experience in customer service, Shane looks forward to helping his customers and providing an enjoyable furniture shopping experience.
Having lived in the Oklahoma City area for several years, Scott joined our team as a full-time Sales Associate after relocating to Ponca City in January of 2011. Scott has worked in sales for many years and looks forward to the opportunity to serve our customers. In his free time, Scott enjoys working outdoors and watching college football and baseball.
Originally from Honduras, Riccy grew up in Oklahoma and began her career at Smith Home Furnishings as a Full-Time Sales Associate in 2015. Speaking English and Spanish, Riccy enjoys the opportunity to communicate and work with our customers, ensuring they receive the best possible experience at our store. Short in stature, but big in heart, being successful in both her professional and personal life is very important to Riccy. In her downtime, Riccy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, in Newkirk, OK where they currently reside.
Carla started her career as a Sales Associate with Smith Home Furnishings in 2015, after working at Ponca City Public Schools for over 5 years. Originally from West Texas, Carla moved to Ponca City to be close to family. Having worked in sales for many years, including furniture sales in the San Antonio area, Carla is excited about the opportunity to get back to helping customers find the perfect furniture or mattress for their home.
Born and raised in Ponca City, Patrick is proud to work for a locally owned and operated business. Patrick started his career with Smith Home Furnishings as a Sales Associate in May of 2017, previously working in the Sales and Customer Service industry for over 10 years. The most important thing for Patrick is being able to simply help people find what they are looking for, while making it an easy and comfortable experience. Away from work, Patrick enjoys family time and watching as much football as possible.
DJ started his career at Smith Home Furnishings in April of 2018, after working in management for AMC Theatres. As a Sales Associate, DJ enjoys meeting and interacting with new customers, working to build long term relationships based on exceptional customer service. Born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma, DJ has deep roots in our area and is thankful for the opportunity to work in a community surrounded by friends and family. When not working, DJ enjoys traveling with his wife and playing guitar.
Jacob came to work for Smith Home Furnishings in November of 2014. He began his work in the position of Warehouse Helper/Delivery Driver, but after a few years, his skill set for furniture repair earned him his current position of Service Technician. As our primary technician, Jacob works hard at ensuring best practices are used to repair our customers furniture and has already earned repair and tech certifications from various vendor training programs in our industry. Jacob makes in-home service calls to our customers, at no-charge under warranty, accessing the issues and working to find the best solution that will exceed expectations. Having grown up in Ponca City, Jacob enjoys working around friends and family and his downtime includes working on do-it-yourself projects around the house and spending quality time with family
